da bear

i started working at the comfort inn just in time to paint the bear that will be standing in the lincoln town center for the winter. all the local businesses have one...

that is the logo for the hotel.

a few more ornaments...

these are two of my favorite ornaments of the year....a his and hers set of mustaches for the tree. what tree is complete without a mustache.  it was completed with a card that said  have a mustachey christmas.

the pickle, coffee bean, nail nub trio went to colorado to my nail biting, pickle eating, coffee drinking great freind anne.....she has a few vices but who doesn't? i just thought id remind her. :)

and last but not least the rear entry ski boot.  it hasnt been sent out yet but im pretty sure the recipient of this classic is not a follower,  so we are safe.

first ornaments out...

the ornament exchange with jay and lydia....these are blurry pictures, but you get the idea.  a emperor penguin  for lydia and a book worm for jay complete with a hogwarts scarf......i love these guys, and was sad to see them go!  they are made out of sculpey with a coat of modge podge.

new snow

we went out to breakfast sunday.....it was early after a little snow squall that night.  kev and kaya are heart shaped......seems fitting on a cold winter morning.

a still morning shot....except for the squirrels that bomb around in there.

now that i am working i appreciate these moments much more. the quiet sunday morning walk to breakfast before most of the town has stirred.

holiday craze part three

the ornaments i made will have to wait until everyone gets them so no one sees what i am sending to them...

holiday craze part two

 well part 2.  i got these sparkly garland strands and hung them over all the windows and doors downstairs.  almost there....just the tree left. oh and there are snowflake window clings on all the downstairs windows....i smell a winter wonderland!

my friend nick got married in october on the beach.  i made him this painting from one of my favorite photos his mom took.  its paper, modge podge, acrylic paint and ink. 

holiday craze part one

my living room is being transformed into a winter wonderland*.  it's pretty awesome. the first step was to make a bunch of snowflakes out of paper, then string them with fishing line and tape them up to the ceiling.  we have recessed lighting so they light up from all sides nicely.  here are some shots. they are kind of hard to see but you get the idea.

*id like to mention i was a total scrooge last year at christmas time, so im making up for it this year....
